Le Petit Choeur was
formed in 1994. The purpose of its creation was to offer the musically
and vocally advanced singer an opportunity for further study. The choir
is a select ensemble of girls ranging in age from 13-18 years (grades
8-12). Rehearsals are held during the school year each week for two
hours. In 1997, Le Petit Choeur competed at the Heritage Music Festival in
Chicago where they received the Gold Award and the Outstanding Choral
Performance Award. In 1998, Le Petit Choeur competed at the National
level in the Heritage Festival of Gold. The group received top ratings
and was chosen as the featured choir to perform at Kennedy Center in
Washington, D.C. They have also been invited to perform at the State and
Divisional Conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. In 2004, select members participated in the performance of Krystof Penderecki’s “Credo” with the Florida State University Choirs and Symphony Orchestra.
