The Gulf
Coast Children's Choir was formed in 1993 and is an auditioned,
intermediate-level choir of young singers, ages 8-12, who have had some
previous musical experience in either the Gulf Coast Cadet Choir or their
school, church, or private music programs. Audition is based upon vocal
ability and aural music skills. The Children's Choir offers opportunities
to enhance vocal technique and music theory skills.
The Children's Choir has performed at Magic Music Days at Disney World,
served as the demonstration choir for the Florida ACDA State convention,
and was selected to be the featured performers at the Florida Elementary
Music Educators Association State convention in 1998. They also performed
the African Sanctus with the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay in the Spring of
2000. The Children’s Choir has served as the host ensemble for the Young
Voices Festival since 2001. In 2005, they were selected for a special
performance at the Florida ACDA State Conference. Most recently, this
choir recorded a children's choral piece that will be on the demonstration
CD that accompanies the 2007 choral releases from Walton Music Publishers. |
