Mannchor, formerly known as the Gulf Coast Boychoir, is in its eighth year of existence. Mannchor is an auditioned group of male singers between the ages of 12 and 18 with changing and changed voices. The ensemble offers opportunities for boys to enhance their vocal technique and musicianship while performing quality men’s choral literature. In 2004, Mannchor competed at the National Heritage Music Festival in Washington, D.C., where they received a Gold Award. Mannchor has also performed at the Florida State Capitol Building and at Stetson University as a demonstration choir for a workshop held for Choral Music Education students. In July 2007, Mannchor will be traveling to Beijing, China for the International Choral Festival where singers from all around the world will join together to share the gift of music with the people of China. |
